This video shows the recent progress of the activities of the ORM4Soil Ghana Team in the field. Farmers from around the study area of Kade were invited to inspect the results of the trials which they had contributed to design in the beginning of the study. The importance of organic resources for soil regeneration and long term soil fertility was stressed during the field visits and farmers had the chance to see the performance of different soil organic inputs such as compost from locally available plant material (such as the empty fruit bunch – EFB – from oil palm) and biochar compared to usual practices of applying mineral fertilizers alone. The participants could learn more about the long term advantages of such organic inputs and the disadvantages of not applying organic inputs in their soil. The video was realized by ORM4Soil Ghana Team.
